The blank expanse tempted the intelligence…
”It must be FILLED!”
And then wrestling in the maelstrom
With thoughts, words, and fingers
After time, times, and another time
Where there once was nothing became
intelligible shapes and words.

Behold:
Have you ever wanted to play God?
Today we’re introducing our latest playtest: “The 49th Dusk”
It’s a Creation Myth Worldbuilding Campaign, where you & your punk friends play as young gods of chaos and order, fighting against each other to mold the new world in your own image.
At the end of these 49 zany days, your gaming group will have an entire bespoke saga world to play new sagas in, complete with various mortal folks, cultures, religions, magics, ecologies, and creation myths, of your own making, out-of-the-box!
This playtest doc contains ~20 pages with all the setup for the premise, all the character options, and a short play guide!
Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s inside!
Getting To Know Your Gods
This offering sets a pre-supposed cosmology that is populated by the choices and imagination of the players.
This cosmology consists of a race of mysterious ultimate creator beings, the unknowable “Eight Generations of Blind Reality”, and the 3 families of gods they birthed; the “Echoes of Reality”, the “Trollbairn”, and the “Starry Host”.
Domains of the Gods
Beyond their impressive natural (lack of) limitations, the other main thing these gods have going for them are their Domains of power. Starting off with just 2, gods use their domain to directly enact their will upon the cosmos.
There are endless possible domains, but each of the 3 families have their own spread of domains, which correspond with Freudian psychology; Id domains of the chaotic Trollbairn, Ego domains of the impartial Echoes, and Superego domains of the visionary Starry Host.
We have d100 options for each kind of domain in the book!
Play Guide: Your Own Personal Hermes
This is a very different style of campaign, and I wanted to make sure our playtesters understood that it’s at once both a mythic god drama, and a sort of turn-based strategy game, where their in-character goals are also their own personal “win conditions”.
Here’s the current writeup talking about Actions and Time:
There’s other writeups about travel, exploration, and domain miracles in this iteration of the play guide, but rest assured!
This is just the very first iteration of this playtest. We’ll be uploading new expanded versions as things develop. I already have some sections for generating action chains for gods, as well as stock NPC pantheons for Singer GM’s to use to their advantage.
Drew Where Can I Download This Thing?
Right here!!!
Enjoy, and PLEASE: Let me know what you like in it, what you DON’T like, what you found confusing, and what you think is MISSING!
You’re invited to join us for this whole adventure.
We’re playtesting in our Discord server every Tuesday at 4PM ET.
It’s a drop-in, drop-out West Marches style game.
Even if all you can do is show up once, I’ll keep your character sheet and have them perform the action chain you give me as the days progress!
But that’s not all! Your feedback will directly impact how we build this offering.
But Wait, There’s More…
We’ve been clacking away at getting the free zine release of The Epic of Dreams: Basilisk Edition finished up, and we’re officially in the second pass through of the manuscript!
It’s hard for me to count how many times I’ve sat down to rewrite this Epic of Dreams book, since the very first time in 2015.
I’m really focusing on accessibility in this iteration of the game.
I want this to be the first thing people get to experience when they meet us & our gaming ethos, and I want them to have an absolute blast when reading it.
So be on the lookout for that!
